Turquoise calcite is also known as Caribbean Calcite, not because it comes from the Caribbean, but because of its visual similarity to the beautiful blue/green seas and pale sands of that part of the world. The crystal itself is actually found and mined exclusively in Pakistan. It was discovered there relatively recently, in 2019. There are currently no other known deposits in the world, so it is an ideal crystal to add to a collection. It presents as mostly pale turquoise with bands of white and often has bands of light brown aragonite running through it. It can contain small cavities containing druzy.
